Just wanted to let you know that the entire Department of Texas have you, your family and your membership and their families in our prayers. Please take care of what needs to be done to keep yourself and your family safe.
This disaster from Hurricane Hanna on top of the already health issues presented by the COVID pandemic have created numerous challenges for all of us. There is some relief available to those who need it and meet the requirements. Yesterday the Governor declared certain counties a disaster and today Governor Abbott announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and President Trump have granted a Federal Emergency Declaration request for Public Assistance Category B (Emergency Protective Measures) after Hurricane Hanna’s landfall.
This declaration enables both legion members and posts to apply for relief from The Texas Emergency Fund and the National Emergency Fund NEF provided sufficient funds are available and the stated requirements are met.
