Following the lead of the National Commander and his staff as announced yesterday, I have suspended my travels through the end of April. Limiting travel and keeping group size to no more than 10 or up to 50 depending on the type of group along with keeping a social distance from each other, are all recommendations by the CDC and other medical professionals.
As we all know, national, state and local officials are announcing almost daily changes regarding this virus and I believe that I should do my part and limit my travel to those that are only absolutely necessary such as doctor visits and grocery stores.
This was a very difficult decision to make but since I fall into the high-risk category I felt it was the prudent thing to do. I will assess this decision near the end of April.
Each and every one of you needs to do what you feel is the best course of action.
Take care and above all be safe and stay healthy.
Robert L. Masten
Commander, 3rd Division
